Initiatives by Murata Related to Climate Change

Finding measures to deal with climate change and to enable society to continue to grow in a sustainable manner constitutes one of the most important challenges facing international society. As Murata endeavors to expand its business, it is moving forward aggressively with measures to combat climate change, such as revising standards for capital investment to encourage the introduction of more energy-efficient equipment. For example, Murata is working to optimize the efficiency of its business operations by deploying energy management systems that utilize sensors developed in-house at its factories to enable visualization of information on environmental factors such as temperature and the energy usage status of various types of equipment. Murata also participates in the Japan Climate Leaders’ Partnership*1 as part of its efforts to use knowledge from both inside and outside the company in the exploration of promising new policies. Moving forward, Murata will continue to pursue such initiatives as promoting the use of energy from renewable sources, as we work toward the realization of a post-carbon society.
