Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (hereafter: Murata) has been selected for the second year in a row as an index component of the FTSE4Good Index Series＊1, a global index for socially responsible investment, and the FTSE Blossom Japan Index＊2.
＊1 The FTSE4Good Index Series and FTSE Blossom Japan Index are indices developed by FTSE Russell, an independent corporation wholly owned by the United Kingdom’s London Stock Exchange.
＊2 The FTSE Blossom Japan Index is used as a passive investment benchmark in the Government Pension Investment Fund’s (GPIF) ESG investing.
These indices were developed by FTSE Russell, a global index provider.
The FTSE4Good Index Series consists of companies whose behavior is considered outstanding from an ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) viewpoint. This index evaluates a company’s value not only in terms of its finances, but comprehensively by including non-financial aspects such as social responsibility and ethical activities and is widely used as a basis for evaluations when selecting companies for investment.
The FTSE Blossom Japan Index specializes in Japanese companies with outstanding ESG responses and is used by the Government Pension Investment Fund (GPIF) for ESG investment.
