Overview
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. will create a carbon neutral* visitor zone and contribute to power-saving, energy conservation and CO2 reduction by installing 50 KW class solar panels and LED lighting in the head office building.
This will be the largest scale and quality power generation among company-owned office buildings in Kyoto.
Background
As a part of our energy conservation and CO2 reduction promotion plan, we intend to create a carbon neutral visitor zone next spring by installing solar power panels and LED lighting and generating sufficient power for the lighting and air-conditioning in this visitor zone through our solar power generation system.
However, as a result of increasing calls in the community for saving energy this winter, we decided to bring forward our plan in order to save as much energy as possible. Under this plan, we aim to increase our employees' awareness of the environment by making energy visible through the installation of a panel that displays the amount of electricity generated.
We will continue to actively promote the reduction of our environmental impact in the future.
