Summary

The theme of Murata's booth this year is "Smart Home, Smart Life."
At the Smart Home zone, we will be introducing products and technologies that play an active role in "Smart Home" technology. "Smart Home" makes efficient use of electricity and enables people to sensibly enjoy their livelihoods.
In the "Smart Life" zone, also introduced will be products and technologies that can contribute to reducing the size and increasing the functionality of health care devices, smartphones and tablet computers.
A wide-ranging lineup of capacitors will be introduced, including small-size and large-capacity monolithic ceramic capacitors.
We will be presenting demonstrations of our bicycle-riding robot "MURATA BOY" and unicycle-riding robot "MURATA GIRL" on the main stage.

Smart Home

We will be providing solutions as to how considerable power-saving is possible by using a sensor to detect the presence of a person nearby, and then using this information to control an LED lighting system via a wireless network. We will also be introducing products and technologies that play an active role in "Smart Home" technology. "Smart Home" makes efficient use of electricity and enables people to sensibly enjoy their livelihoods with products such as a batteryless remote control consisting of a communication module, and an energy harvester that converts ambient energy from background sources into electricity.

Items in focus

  • Wireless sensor network
  • Capacitive coupling-type wireless power transmission system
  • Example of application to Leaf Grip Remote Controller

Smart Life

We will be introducing products and technologies for easier access to healthcare: for example, a vital sign sensor that can take a person's pulse when simply held in the hand; and a communication module that keeps track of a person's physical condition by sending monitored data to a personal computer or mobile phone.
Also introduced will be electronic components and technologies such as the near field communication (NFC) module and a sensor that operates motion control without the need for a touch panel. These components can contribute to reducing the size and increasing the functionality of smartphones and tablet computers.

Items in focus (health care)

  • Vital sign sensor
  • Microblower
  • Micro pump

Items in focus (smartphones and tablet computers)

  • Optical interface
  • Touch pressure pad
  • NFC solution

Capacitor House

A wide-ranging lineup of products will be introduced, including conductive polymer aluminum electrolytic capacitors and electric double-layer energy devices in addition to small-size and large-capacity monolithic ceramic capacitors.
Visitors can also get firsthand experience of the renewed capacitor Web search system at the exhibition booth.

Items in focus

  • Capacitor Web search system
  • High frequency low loss type monolithic ceramic capacitor
