Summary

The Murata booth at CEATEC JAPAN 2015 will introduce a wide variety of products, centering on areas dedicated to “Wearable Solutions” and “Automotive Solutions.”
As more and more products and concepts go digital, the IoT (Internet of Things) continues to grow ever wider in scope. A crucial function in the IoT domain is connections between devices, such as M2M (Machine to Machine) and C2X (Car-to-X) communications. With the wearables and automotive applications that play a part in these communications as its main theme, the Murata booth will present solutions such as sensors and communication modules that will further drive the evolution of these fields.
Cutting-edge technologies and products for sectors like healthcare and entertainment will be exhibited in the “Advanced Products” area.
We hope many visitors will take the chance to learn about Murata’s lineup of products that meet the demands of a wide range of applications.

Outline of exhibited items

Wearable Solutions

Developments in wearable devices continue to reach new heights. Through demonstrations of eyeglasses and wristband-type wearable devices, this area of the booth will introduce sensor and device solutions that contribute to applications like exercise monitoring and interfaces.

Highlights

  • Micro position sensor
  • Mini position sensor
  • Micro DC-DC convertor
  • NFC antenna

Highlight: Wristband-type wearable device demo units

Using original wristband-type wearable devices outfitted with various sensors that detect variables like heartrate, the temperature of the body’s surface and differences in elevation, as well as communication modules and power sources, Murata will demonstrate each of the products.

Automotive Solutions

This area of the booth will present sensor solutions for self-driving cars and vehicle HMI (human-machine interfaces=user interfaces). Murata’s communication modules are contributing to the evolution of C2X communication and in-vehicle infotainment (IVI). The “Automotive Solutions” area will introduce a variety of products for the cars of the future.

Highlights

  • Sensors for 3D Dead Reckoning
  • Motion Sensing Solution
  • Connectivity solution for automotive

Highlight: Sensors for 3D Dead Reckoning

Murata will introduce its lineup of sensors for dead-reckoning applications. Combined gyro sensors (combined gyroscope and accelerometers) can detect a vehicle’s movement so that car navigation systems don’t lose track of the vehicle’s position even under conditions where satellite signals are unavailable, such as in a tunnel or underground. Murata will demonstrate how these sensors monitor automated cruising.

Advanced Products

This area will introduce various products that contribute in a wide range of contexts, including sensors and capacitors for fields like nursing and healthcare, as well as actuators and amp modules for entertainment applications.

Highlights

  • Wireless connectivity module built-in bed sensor
  • Piezo film actuator
  • Microblower
  • Smart amp module
  • Large capacity monolithic ceramic capacitor
