Tohoku Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd., is a member of the Murata Manufacturing Group, a global integrated electronic-component manufacturer that continually produces cutting-edge electronic components.

This company took over the business responsibilities and started its operations in September 2017 in the Tohoku region, Japan, where the world’s 1st commercial lithium-ion rechargeable batteries & the world’s 1st mercury-free silver oxide batteries had been introduced, followed by the world’s 1st acquisition of ‘UL1973 certification’, a safety standard for stationary storage batteries in energy storage system, by use of the energy storage system using "FORTELION" , a lithium ion battery with olivine-type lithium iron phosphate in the cathode.

The company is based in Koriyama City, Fukushima Prefecture, and also has manufacturing sites in the nearby cities of Motomiya, along with a network of overseas locations including Singapore and Wuxi. Together with our suppliers, we will continue to contribute to the creation of environmentally friendly society and the advancement of people’s lives through the development, design, and manufacturing of our core products—lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, silver oxide batteries, and coin manganese dioxide lithium batteries—as well as energy storage systems.
