Murata philosophy was written by the founder Akira Murata in 1954.
The world has changed since 1954, and so has Murata. We have become a big global company with tens of thousands of employees worldwide. Our business environment is changing quickly and becoming even more challenging than before. More than ever, it is important to have a common basement on which to build, and a mission shared by all of us.
Our long and short term strategies and decision making must be based on the philosophy. Sharing these same principles enables us to work as one team globally, towards common goals.

Murata story is an exciting story of continuous innovation. The slogan "Innovator in Electronics" was formulated for Murata's 50th anniversary, symbolizing our aim to become the company that “leads the way in innovation in the electronics industry.” This slogan is based on the Murata philosophy and it describes our pioneering spirit and willingness to always find new, unique solutions.
For Murata, innovation means making something new out of existing, by using fresh ideas and creative thinking. New products, new solutions. It's "open innovation" - using not only Murata's existing technologies but looking also at external opportunities. Looking for new ways to solve our customers' problems and satisfy their needs.
But innovation is not just about new products. You do not have to be an engineer to be innovative. Whatever your daily work is, you can always look for new ways to do it better, quicker or safer.
Being an “Innovator”, thus practicing Murata philosophy, also means seriously thinking about how we can improve our society and environment, and to act upon such thinking.

CS* means Continuing to create and provide value that is recognized by the customer. How can we ensure that our customers are happy and satisfied? The only way is to look at the problems through their eyes to deeply understand their needs and to find innovative solutions that will help them to succeed. We should ask ourselves every day: Is my work going to impress and make the customer happy?

ES* means Every employee achieves satisfaction and continuing growth through the performance of their work duties. The fact is that we have to earn our customers' trust every day.
