Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Murata”) received the Grand Prix S award at the third annual Nikkei Integrated Report Awards, organized by Nikkei Inc. The Grand Prix S Award is presented to companies whose reports demonstrate particular excellence with regard to what they say on the “S” aspect (social) of ESG considerations. After receiving the award for excellence at the inaugural Nikkei Integrated Report Awards and taking second place the following year, our ongoing efforts to disclose information through the Murata Value Report, our integrated report, have once again been evaluated highly.

We have been publishing the Murata Value Report since 2018 with the purpose of having constructive dialogue with our stakeholders.

In the 2023 edition of the Murata Value Report, we summarized our efforts to co-create value together with our stakeholders, one of the goals of our long-term direction, “Vision 2030,” in a clearer way that is easier to understand.
We foresee the electronics market in which Murata operates continuing to expand into other domains and business opportunities increasing as we progress toward 2030, and the report sets out the main points in implementing our growth strategy, including the state of progress of Mid-term Direction 2024 and information on our growth potential and the value we plan to deliver in the future.

Additionally, our messages from management, such as the “Message from the President,” were also highly rated, with the judges specifically noting:
• “The company's strengths and the issues it faces are well organized and specific measures are set out, making it easy to understand the direction of the strategy.”
• “You can feel that ESG considerations are rooted as a philosophy.”
• “It conveys that ESG initiatives are linked to corporate value, such as human resources, human rights, and CSR procurement.”

Going forward, we will continue to openly disclose information so that our stakeholders can have a better understanding of our initiatives and with the aim of co-creating value through constructive dialogue with stakeholders.

What are the Nikkei Integrated Report Awards?

Nikkei, Inc. has been holding the Nikkei Annual Report Awards since 1998, with the aim of further enhancing and promoting annual reports published by Japanese companies. A record 475 companies and organizations entered the awards this year, with three companies receiving the grand prix, one receiving the grand prix E award, two receiving the grand prix S award, two receiving the grand prix G award, six receiving second prize, one receiving the newcomer prize, and 42 receiving the award for excellence.
