Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd. (hereafter “Murata”) plans to open its “Mulabo!” science experience facility for children in the Minato Mirai 21 area of Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture on December 16, 2020. As a facility open to the public, Mulabo! will convey the fun of science through electronics.
Murata Manufacturing Co., Ltd.
President: Norio Nakajima
Mulabo!, coined by employees combing abbreviations for Murata and Laboratory, is based on the concept of “a place where budding engineers are born,” the facility will contribute to the development of STEM “Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics education “, and culture under the theme of “science,” which is linked to Murata’s business activities. Providing children with a place to encounter the wonders and joys of science, Mulabo! will aim to become a new face of Yokohama Minato Mirai. In order to be appealing to, popular among, and repeatedly enjoyed by visitors of all ages, the facility will contain the following four unique zones.
The DISCOVER Zone will have experiential exhibits where visitors can learn the basics of electricity under the theme of “visible science.” In addition to the three main experiential exhibits, which include quizzes using terminals, we also plan to have an experiential exhibit section that uses Murata’s own technology. The DISCOVER Zone will also have exhibits that allow visitors to have fun learning by seeing and touching.
