Summary

At this exhibition, all the latest technologies and products underpinning the ongoing advances achieved in automotive electronics will be showcased together under one roof. A total of 810 companies—a figure that represents the largest number of companies ever to participate—will be exhibiting their creations. In addition to the manufacturers involved with automobiles, exhibitors will include industrial equipment manufacturers, electronic component manufacturers, system integrators and manufacturers from many other branches of industry.
Murata has earmarked the automotive market as a priority market in the context of its business strategy, and it offers not only electronic components but also many and varied solutions that contribute to achieving smaller sizes, greater sophistication in functions, and higher levels of reliability, efficiency and comfort aimed at this segment of the market.

Main exhibits

Connected Car

Murata will introduce some solutions that support and complement the communication functions of vehicle navigation and GPS systems.
  • Sensors for 3D dead-reckoning (combined accelerometer and gyroscope sensor devices)
  • Automotive-use Wi-Fi® and Bluetooth® connectivity modules

Attention-grabbing exhibits: Sensors for 3D dead-reckoning

Murata will exhibit, by way of demonstrations, its sensors for 3D dead-reckoning (self-contained navigation). It invites visitors to its booth at the exhibition to view its combined accelerometer and gyroscope sensor devices which, when a vehicle navigation system is being used, detect the path and altitude of a vehicle’s traveling motion even under conditions where the satellite signals are interrupted or lost such as in tunnels or underground.

Human Machine Interface

Murata will introduce some solutions tailored to the screen operations that are performed on the dashboard and that have been attracting a great deal of attention in recent years.

  • Motion sensing solutions
  • Feed-forward haptics

Power Train

Murata will have on display a variety of modules that contribute to increasing the compactness and enhancing the efficiency of EVs, HEVs and PHEVs.

  • Bus-module-type DC-DC converters (to be exhibited for the first time ever)
  • DC-DC converters for e-mobility
  • Isolated DC-DC converters
  • Power modules for use in vehicles

General-purpose components and modules for vehicles

In addition to the exhibits already described, Murata will be displaying automotive-use monolithic ceramic capacitors and inductors, timing devices and other general-purpose components, as well as components made by Peregrine Semiconductor Corporation of the United States, which Murata acquired last year.

  • Monolithic ceramic capacitors for infotainment uses
  • Monolithic ceramic capacitors equipped with metal pins
  • Water-repellent monolithic ceramic capacitors
  • Noise suppression components for signal line and power lines
  • SMD piezoelectric sounders with high sound pressure for automotive uses
  • Small-sized crystal oscillators for automotive uses
  • RF switches made by Peregrine Semiconductor (to be exhibited for the first time ever)
