To realize a sustainable society, companies must be trusted by society and contribute to the resolution of various social issues. Our mission is to work toward solving issues through our business with an eye on social changes, create new forms of value, and grow with the advancement of society.
Murata has worked to solve social issues through our business. Our corporate slogan, "Innovator in Electronics," expresses our aspiration not only to lead literal innovation in our business but also to work toward a better environment and society and create value through inventive electronics development. Based on the Murata Philosophy and "Innovator in Electronics," we have contributed to the advancement of society by contributing to more efficient utilization of resources through manufacturing lighter and more compact products and to energy conservation through the supply of high-efficiency modules, as well as by providing innovative products and solutions in areas such as the telecommunication and automotive markets.
Now, opportunities for Murata to contribute to society are about to expand even further.
The world is at a major turning point due to the rapid evolution of AI. I see this transformation not as mere technological innovation but rather as a kind of "industrial revolution" that will alter the very structure of society and industry. The growth of AI data centers has only just begun. In the future, the application of AI will most likely expand to various fields including edge devices, mobility, robotics, and space assets. Murata will support this social evolution through the material technologies, manufacturing technologies, and wide range of electronic components that we have developed over the years.
At the same time, social and corporate values are also shifting dramatically. As Murata's business fields expand and our role to play in society becomes larger, there is a greater need than ever for us to grow our business in harmony with society. Addressing social issues including the environment and human rights is not only an important topic in creating new forms of value and connecting them to sustainable growth but also an essential obligation for companies.
