    Basic approach and policies

Through the implementation of Murata Philosophy, we aim to maximize the potential of AI and, through collaboration with our stakeholders, create new value that contributes to building a sustainable society.

    AI has the potential to drive efficiency and quality improvements across entire business processes, support strategic and well‑informed decision‑making, foster sustainable value creation, and at the same time enhance customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and contributions to society.
    However, failure to comply with applicable laws and internal regulations, protect intellectual property rights and privacy, and appropriately manage confidential information carries the risk of harming corporate activities and eroding trust with society through compliance violations, rights infringements, and information leaks.

    Considering both the potential and risks of AI, Murata has established the "Murata AI Basic Policy," which outlines our fundamental approach to engaging with AI. All executives and employees of Murata will utilize AI with responsibility in accordance with this policy, and applicable laws and regulations.

      Murata acknowledges the potential for bias in the judgments produced by AI, and take measures to eliminate any unfair discrimination, prejudice, or disadvantage in its utilization by appropriately incorporating human judgment.

    4. Compliance with Laws and Protection of Rights

      In utilizing AI, Murata will comply with relevant laws and regulations, and respect the rights and interests of others.

    5. Ensuring Safety

      Murata will pursue improvements in the reliability and quality of products and services it provides by appropriately incorporating AI.
      In utilizing AI technologies , we will implement and strengthen information security measures and protect privacy.

    6. Ensuring Transparency

      Murata will establish a system that enable the explanation of the basis for, and validation of the results produced by AI.

    7. Fulfilling accountability

      Murata recognizes the importance of governance and is committed to ensuring accountability in the use of AI through ongoing monitoring and continuous improvement.
      In the event of an unforeseen situation, we will disclose information, strive to clarify the causes, and implement measures.

    8. Human Resource Development

      Murata fosters highly skilled professionals in AI development. In addition, through continuous education, we enhance the AI usage of all executives and employees regarding its benefits and risks, ensuring they understand the ethical, legal, and operational implications and can apply it responsibly.
