Murata makes two types of lithium-ion secondary battery: cylindrical and laminated. We are currently focusing on the cylindrical type in particular, which has advantages in terms of high output, safety, long-term storage, and high temperature properties. We will leverage these strengths to expand our business in the growing markets for small drive systems and storage batteries, so that we can contribute to the enrichment of society by responding to needs including those relating to decarbonization, renewable energy and energy conservation.
