Our Vision for 2030

To realize a sustainable global environment through co-creation with stakeholders and to spread it to our own business and to society.

The Murata mindset

Murata has supported the development of an electronic society by expanding the scale of its business scale while meeting the needs of the era. To reduce GHG emissions that have increased along with our growing business, we have been promoting effective efforts such as ongoing energy-saving initiatives, the use of renewable energy, leading the industry through our RE100 declaration, and introducing internal carbon pricing.
Meanwhile, major disasters caused by climate change now occur frequently worldwide, calling for us to step up our efforts to reduce GHG emissions.
On top of existing efforts, Murata will expand the use of renewable energy with additionality and extend our efforts to the entire value chain. Through new co-creation with like-minded stakeholders, we will work to develop technologies and products that solve issues toward a decarbonized society.
As a company aiming to be the Global No. 1 Component & Module Supplier, Murata takes responsibility in accelerating its efforts toward achieving a decarbonized society globally.

Our Vision for 2030

To realize a sustainable global environment through co-creation with stakeholders and to spread it to our own business and to society.

The Murata mindset

In 1994, Murata pledged “not to make products that waste resources and energy” and has proactively worked on resource conservation and recycling, including achieving zero emissions within Japan.
As the global population and economy grows, the risk of resource depletion is increasing. For Murata, which manufactures electronic components from rare earth metals and other natural resources, this risk affects the very foundation of our business. To maintain stable resource use for the future, we believe it is necessary to stay on top of resource recycling trends and take action to maintain and improve natural capital through such efforts.
Murata will create more innovation by combining our technological capability, which helps make components lighter, thinner, shorter, smaller, more efficient, and longer-lasting, with our monozukuri (manufacturing) capability, which integrates material development, product development, production technology, procurement, and manufacturing functions at a high level. We will conduct business activities that contribute to nature-positive outcomes through co-creation with stakeholders to help achieve sustainable resource use for materials used in products as well as resource recycling for waste generated during manufacturing.
By spreading this movement to society, we aim to help create a recycling-oriented society where people live in harmony with nature.
