In order to create a "virtuous cycle of social and economic value" as outlined in Vision 2030, Murata is working toward company-wide embedding of sustainability awareness aimed at enabling all employees to spontaneously consider aspects of social issues in the course of their duties. Murata launched awareness-building initiatives mainly targeting management in FY 2019 and has been expanding these efforts to non-managerial employees since FY 2022.
In addition to the sharing of information with all employees and hosting of seminars by the Head Office, promotion personnel appointed at each of our locations in Japan take the lead in carrying out various measures based on the culture, climate, and issues at their location. We also emphasize "enjoyable learning" to encourage interest among a wider range of employees.
Using the SDGs as a common language, Murata is working to promote understanding of social issues and foster a favorable climate through communication tools such as our intranet, company newsletters, message boards, and videos. We also actively host hands-on seminars and events in the hopes that gaining their own realizations through experience will lead employees to identify with these issues.

Murata is developing more practical approaches to turn understanding and empathy into concrete action, such as sharing the direction of company-wide initiatives and practical examples and holding training in thinking to generate innovation for solving social issues that are in a state of trade-off.
We grasp changes in the level of sustainability awareness across the company by conducting annual questionnaires, the results of which are applied to initiatives in the next FY. Currently, over 90% of employees understand the need to address social issues as a company, and the percentage of employees who are putting action into practice is on an upward trend. In FY 2022, we newly established a Presidential award called the "Social Value Contribution Award," demonstrating the company's appreciation of these efforts as well as practical examples to employees.
